How Onboarding Works

By using Microsoft Entra groups, the Read and Understood App tracks the user’s membership in groups. When a new user is added, that new member is notified to read, or if required, acknowledge reading current document versions. In addition, as documents are added or updated, all members of the groups will automatically be notified to read, or if required, acknowledge reading.

What if an employee leaves and re-joins or moves between roles?

By moving users between SharePoint and/or Microsoft Entra groups and specifying within the add-in the duration in days after the employee is re-classified as a new employee. Employees will automatically be notified to read, or if required, acknowledge reading.

Are Read and Understood reports updated with those who participated in onboarding?

Yes. All documents the new employee is asked to acknowledge will be updated within our reports against the current document versions. If the employee fails to acknowledge the document within the required time, this will also be reported for document versions.
